Empowering through Arts

At Sattvika, an inclusive school, we believe in the transformative power of classical Indian arts to uplift, inspire, and empower. Wildlife conservationist and acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer Dr Sathya S N is blending art with activism in a powerful way. Using Bharatanatyam as a storytelling medium, she raises awareness about human–wildlife conflict while also breaking caste barriers by teaching dance to children from oppressed communities. On International Women’s Day, NDTV’s Sam Daniel speaks to Dr Sathya about how classical dance can drive conservation, social change and women’s empowerment. From portraying wildlife stories through abhinaya to helping girls from marginalised backgrounds gain confidence and dignity, her journey highlights how Bharatanatyam can transform lives while spreading awareness about protecting nature.

Our Mission

  • To foster empowerment through classical arts, offering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing space for learning and self-expression.
  • To contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting gender equality, quality education, and reduced inequalities through structured training programs, performances, and community outreach.
  • To raise environmental awareness by integrating eco-conscious values into our curriculum, events, and daily practices, encouraging students to be mindful artists and responsible citizens.

Through dance and music, we aim to build confident individuals who are not only skilled performers but also thoughtful change makers contributing to a sustainable and equitable future.

At Sattvika School, we strive to be torchbearers of our nation’s rich cultural heritage while staying deeply rooted in compassion, holistic student development, and environmental consciousness. Through the transformative power of the Arts, we actively uphold the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—empowering children and women, especially girl children from underprivileged backgrounds—to grow with dignity and confidence.

At Sattvika School, we believe that empowering girl children and women through the transformative power of Arts creates ripples of change that resonate across communities and generations, aligning with the vision of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. For us, education through culture is not confined to personal success or individual achievement—it is a sacred path towards nurturing a more just, inclusive, and compassionate world.

Through this journey, we aspire to dissolve the barriers of envy, egotism, inequality, injustice, and cruelty, and to transcend the differences of caste, creed, religion, gender, color, race etc. Instead we seek to awaken harmony, empathy, and the shared humanity that unites us all.

Sattvika School strives to make this world a better place—not only for humanity but for every innocent being that shares this Earth with us. We believe that every life deserves to be cherished and nurtured in the loving embrace of Mother Nature, our planet.
